Information for MPowering YOU!!!
MPowering You if you are Mpowered, you can Mpower others
We are scheduling workshops to introduce our
MPower Hour and help you get started on your way
to empowering yourself. Check back soon for
dates! If you are interested in attending, please let
us know here.
We want you to feel a part of a family, the family of women who mother. The purpose
of our site is to use a multi-generational approach to mothering. We are not
"experts" in the traditional sense, but we have years of experience and hope that we
are able to lift, build and support mothers in their many roles.
Learn. Live. Love. Give. MPower.

Tip of the Week
To increase your happiness, record 5 things you accomplished each day. This
allows you to realize how much you have achieved, even on days when it feels like
you accomplished nothing at all. MPower yourself by recognizing your
accomplishments.
Red Lipstick, Helen Reddy, and a Whole Bunch of Miracles
I've been going through something rather (and by "rather," I mean "extremely") difficult
recently. Today, we took a giant step toward resolultion, a step I could not have taken
without--you guessed it--red lipstick, Helen Reddy, and a whole bunch of miracles. I'll
address them a little out of order.
Helen Reddy sang a song in the 1970s (I think) called "I Am Woman," which became
the theme song of feminists everywhere. Now, don't get any ideas--I'm certainly no
bra-burning man-hater; I just found the lyrics of the song to be very pertinent to my
situation. They gave me strength and courage. "I am strong; I am invincible, I am
woman..." (P.S.: Heck yeah, that song's going on the MPower Playlist!!)
The red lipstick I discovered only a few days ago. I needed new lipcolor, and after
staring at the makeup racks for a good while, I picked up something I usually steer very
clear of: red. And I'm not talking some sheer red gloss; I mean a serious,
honest-to-goodness crimson red lipstick. I came home and tried it on, a little nervous
that I'd end up looking ridiculous...and to my shock, I looked good. And wearing it, I felt
empowered...and beautiful...and awesome. In fact, I'm wearing it right now. What was
before my weakness, my fear, is now a source of empowerment for me.
And as for the miracles, I cannot even begin to describe how much I have seen God's
hand, love, and presence in my life every single, solitary day. In every imaginable way,
someone or something has been put into my life that has buoyed me up in my times of
struggle and reminded me that God is there, is listening, and knows and loves me so
individually, so perfectly, that He takes care of me in even the most minute of the
details. And knowing that, I can face anything...
...if I have to. ;-)
