Spontaneous Random Hugging Moments
My children play a game with each other. It is called the Spontaneous Random Hugging. Any one of them (my son rarely is the caller) calls out “spontaneous random hugging moment!!!!” Whoever is closest together then give a hug. Often it is a group hug.
I marvel at my children understanding the need for hugs on a daily basis. Years ago, I read an article about a study that said that we needed 12 hugs a day to grow. Do you get 12 hugs a day? Do you give 12 hugs a day?
Our family has the privilege to love and adopt some senior citizens. One of the ladies we care for loves to have hugs when she leaves or we leave her. This was not always the case. It took awhile for her to “become part of the family.” Now, she is one of us. We love her, and we hug her to show our love. A hug is an outward expression of the feelings we have in our heart.
So, perhaps you would like to play the spontaneous random hugs game. Try it with your family and see if this brings you closer to each other and empowers each other. Spontaneous Random Hugging Moments empower us; how about you?
