“I Enjoy Being a Girl…”
Can I tell you how much I absolutely love being a woman? I really do. Like, I get to wear cute clothes, and do my hair in adorable styles, and play with makeup all the time. I love shopping for shoes and drooling over cute actors and musicians (okay, and cute everybody-elses…lol). I enjoy every single aspect of my femininity.
I’ve been enjoying a lot–a lot a lot–of girl time lately. It’s been amazing!! I have had great conversations at countless Starbucks-es and spa nights, local lakes and living rooms, with some of the smartest, coolest, and most beautiful, talented, and empowered women I know. I am lucky to call them friends. I leave those girls’ nights (or mornings or afternoons) feeling refreshed, renewed, and supported. I feel not only better able but also more desirous to be the woman I truly am, the woman I am capable of being. It feels so incredibly amazing.
We, as women, are undeniably powerful on our own. I have no question about that. But likewise unquestionably, we are more powerful together. We need each other. And when we come together like that, our abilities are magnified and we can accomplish just about anything.
So my challenge to you fabulous females (sorry to our readers with Y chromosomes: you’re not included this time but don’t worry! I’ll talk to you specifically in the future!) is to find (read: make) the time for girl time. Find a friend. Take a sister, a mother, or a daughter. And just go be girls together! You have my full permission to eat delicious food, get a pedicure, or watch a ridiculously sappy chick flick…or any combination thereof. Have a fabulous time!!
