The World is Glorious!

I learned a song at church when I was a young girl. The words are:

I think the world is glorious and lovely as can be
The birds and bees and blossoms bring sweet messages to me.

I have been thinking of this song lately. One of my daughters took a trip to a place bursting into spring from winter. Where we live, we usually don’t have distinct seasons, so she was fascinated by the color palette. How excited she was as she described the colors, the trees, the flowering bushes, the flowers blooming everywhere! She loved the flowering trees especially.

We have so many things to be thankful for in our lives. Even during tough times, we have this glorious world to enjoy. Now it is spring and we are enjoying walking in our neighborhoods and reading outside to enjoy the sunshine. Our sons are working in the yard cleaning the debris from the winter weather we had this year. They are clearing a path for the new growth and removing the dead branches and plants.

The more they clean, the more I think about the rebirth that comes with spring. I am filled with wonder and gratitude for the beautiful world.

This week we celebrate Earth Day. I hope that you will spend some time appreciating this glorious world and continuing to recycle, to restore, to reuse and to enjoy our world. Showing our children by our example is the best way we can continue to love our world.

I think the world is glorious and lovely as can be.

How will you celebrate?
