Miracles

This year has been a year of miracles. I am amazed at the love that my Heavenly Father has for each one of us. He blesses our lives through the gifts and talents and love of others.

Miracles come in many shapes, sizes, colors and lengths. They may come by following a “feeling” that comes into your mind. Sometimes, they come in the form of finding information you need. Sometimes, they are healing from physical or emotional illness. But most of the time, in my experience, they come through the eyes, lips, ears and hands of another person.

This week, our tips of the day have centered around connecting with people. We suggested having family dinner together with no outside or electronic interference. At this dinner we suggested you ask each other questions that inspire conversation about the lives of each family member.

Another tip of the day invited us to meet someone new. I followed that tip myself and, by a miracle, met someone I have been trying to find for about a month.

There are some who will not believe in miracles. But, they don’t know our friend, Tony, who has had miracle after miracle and is improving daily. His journey is hard and is long, but he is making progress (which we weren’t sure was possible a few weeks ago); yesterday, a plan was put together to get him out of the hospital and back home to continue to progress closer to home.

Our dear friend, Ken, is another example of a miracle. The test that was run showed that his health problem was not as complicated as the doctor had thought. You cannot convince me that God does not hear our prayers and bless our lives.

I could go on and on about the miracles we have been blessed with this year. These miracles in our lives have not kept us from experiencing sorrow, hurt, fear and pain at the hands of others. Yet, through all those experiences, the miracles have come which let me know that God is still there, listening, loving and guiding our family with his gifts of miracles.

This year has been a year of miracles. Look around and see the miracles in your life. If you pay attention, you will see the many miracles that happen each and every day. You have to look to find them sometimes because all miracles are not “jump out and grab you” miracles. They may be small like a telephone call to re-connect with a friend. A miracle can be a smile on a child who is getting better after being sick…or, perhaps finding your keys or your cell phone you lost. Miracles are all around us.

What are the miracles you see each day in your life?
