Continually Striving…
In college, I decided to join Delta Omicron, an honorary, professional fraternity for musicians. Prior to my induction into the fraternity, I learned its history, purposes, and objectives, as well as its open motto, which is “Continually Striving, We Attain.” (Okay, so it’s technically “Continenter Nitentes Consequimur,” but that’s neither here nor there…
) And often, my friends and I will post “Continually Striving” on our Facebook status with the knowledge that our fellow D.O.s will finish it out with “We Attain!!” Thus, we all feel the support that comes from sharing things with our D.O. family. It’s pretty awesome, not gonna lie.
As I’ve progressed through the trial I am facing, I have been sooooo incredibly blessed by my extended “family;” there have been so many people that have come to support me–people I had no idea loved me so much. I wish I could thank you all by name, and recognize you for all you have done and are continuing to do for me and my family.
See, here’s the life lesson (one of them, anyway) that ties this whole blog together: it’s not “Continually Striving, I Attain;” it’s “Continually Striving, We Attain.” It’s when we work together that we are strongest, and attain our goals–and our achievements are most meaningful when we share them with those we love.
