Everything Starts Over

Late one night, as my brother was leaving my room after saying goodnight, he said about the upcoming day, “It’s tomorrow; everything starts over.”

And oh my goodness, the utter truth of his comment hit me like a ton of bricks!!  Tomorrow is a brand new day, and I can choose what to make of it.

Like, wow.  How epically fabulo-tastic is that?

Granted, we don’t always get a completely clean slate every time the sun comes up.  We deal with people who will treat us the same way they did yesterday (for good or bad); we still have obligations to fulfill, deadlines to meet, and responsibilities to take care of.  What we do get to determine, however, is who we are at the end of the day–and hopefully, we end the day as better people than we started.

I challenge you to look at tomorrow not as just another day filled with the everyday monotonies of life, but as a gift from God.  There is no difference between an opportunity to fail and an opportunity to succeed–each day is an example of that. And if you aren’t satisfied with today, just remember: tomorrow, everything starts over.

(Including, if and when necessary, you?  And me?)
