Mary Lynn - Mother of 5, grandmother of 8.  Married to the man of her
dreams in embryo for almost 34 years.  She doesn't "do subtle."  Her optimistic
perspective allows her to believe that if she can just "get through this [fill in the blank],
everything will be better!"

Karin - Mother of 6.  Married to Mr. Goodbar (aka Superman) for 11+ years.  She
enjoys building canvas to paint, writing poetry and children's literature, and loves
singing.  She often reassures others (and herself) by saying, "Everything will be okay!"
She secretly dreams of rock climbing through Europe!! (Guess the secret is out--shhhh,
don't tell anyone!!)

Marta - Aunt of 8.  Is tired of people telling her to find Mr. Right 'cause she is
taking her own sweet time.  She writes and arranges music, likes sleep but doesn't do it
much, and her treat of choice for completing her goals is Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey
ice cream.  Her favorite book is The Phantom Tollbooth.  She loves to wear her little
black dress with ballet flats, and she is searching the world over the perfect pink dress.
Who knows?  Maybe Mr. Right has it already.

Marissa - Aunt of 8 and leads music for a children's chorus of 30.  She wrote her
first novel at the age of 11 and continues to write.  Her passion is athletic training, and
she enjoys practicing her taping jobs for ankles, wrists, and...mouths (oops, just
kidding!).  She loves the beach, except she hates the sand...and the water...and the
shells...and the smell.  Okay, maybe she doesn't really love the beach after all.

Marite - Sister of 5.  Cousin of 31.  She writes music, plays the piano and guitar,
and does a great Audrey Hepburn impression.  She loves to make jewelry with her mom,
is the best Study Buddy for her aunt, and loves roasted potatoes.  She really does love the
beach.

Getting to Know Us
Our Story

A grandmother, a mother, a twenty-
year-old and a teenager cleared the
dinner table together after a family
reunion meal.  As they spoke and
laughed and joked together, one
raised her arms to flex her muscles
and show her strength as a mother.  “I
am empowered!” she exclaimed with
a broad smile.

“Yeah, but with a capital M for
mother—Mpower!” said another.

“Exactly!” the first one responded.

As the four continued to discuss the
idea of empowering mothers, they
discovered a need to not only
empower mothers but generations.
MPower Generations was born that
day; our goal for MPower is to inspire
generations to be better daughters,
sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and
friends to all within their power—to
truly MPower Generations for
generations to come.
